Class 4A Rankings

#1 Ottawa (10-0): Just how good is this team? It's hard to say, but I'll go ahead and give Duke recruit Semi Ojeleye the benefit of the doubt here. He's averaging around 40 points this season and that's sitting out most fourth quarters because of the Cyclones' 33.2 average margin of victory.

#2 Highland Park (8-0): The Scots have compiled one of the most impressive resumes in the state this season. They showed their scoring prowess last week by hanging a 100 on Topeka West. They can prove their legit this week in the Topeka tournament with a potential matchup with Olathe South.

#3 McPherson (8-1): A 25-point win over previously-unbeaten El Dorado wasn't as much about exposing the Wildcats as it was about exposing the Bullpups as that good. McPherson has rolled through all of its Kansas competition so far, but it can prove just how good it is this week at its home tournament with a potential match-up with SM East in the finals.

#4 KC Piper (8-1): The Pirates were looking for a marquee victory and they found one last week by knocking off Lansing at home by 7 points. They'll have a chance at another huge win this week if they meet Eisenhower in a potential showdown in the finals of the Spring Hill tournament.

#5 Wamego (7-1): Wamego has been a nice surprise this season and the wins keep piling up. A win over Concordia was nice and it could get another quality win this week in the Hillsboro tournament if it can face a potential 1-loss Hesston team in the finals.

#6 Concordia (8-1): Two big wins last week set Concordia back on track after a disappointing loss to Wamego. A good performance in the Salina Invitational will be needed with a chance for a pair of great wins there.

#7 Andale (8-1): After dropping its first game of the season, Andale has rolled to 8 straight victories and held all 8 opponents to under 50 points. The Indians legitimized themselves with a 2-point win over previously-unbeaten Collegiate at home. More chances for quality wins could be on the way with potential games against Haven and Cheney in the Halstead Invitational.

#8 Coffeyville (8-2): The Golden Tornadoes rebounded from a loss well, notching two wins last week a nice one over Independence. Coffeyville goes out of the state to a tournament in Tulsa, so I'm not too clear on what is waiting for it.

#9 Hesston (9-1): The Swathers are on a 8-game winning streak and rolling right now. They don't have a lot of quality wins, but the margin of victory is impressive and that will be put to the test this week at the Hillsboro tournament but they should enter as the favorite to win it all.

#10 Abilene (8-1): Neither of the two wins last week were particularly impressive, but Abilene keeps winning. After not much of a challenge, the Cowboys will find some in the Salina tournament with a potential Class 5A slate of Salina South, Andover and Salina Central.
