Who's taken advantage of an easy schedule? Who hasn't gotten a break yet this season? I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the strength of schedule, sorted by opponent winning percentage, after the first five weeks of the season.
The way this was calculated was that I took out the team's results against their opponents. So for example, the No. 1 team, Andover Central, has a 6-2 record on the season against a 35-21 record of opponents. Originally that was 37-27, but I decided to take out their own results so that number shrinks to 35-21 to show how their opponents have stacked up to the rest of the competition.
Now this list isn't meant to show black and white, who has played a more difficult schedule. This does not factor in the schedules that their opponents have played. So a win against a 5-3 Class 2A team counts as the same as a win against a 5-3 Class 6A team, although the latter is obviously more valuable. Regardless, I figured this would be neat to look at and I hope you enjoy it.
